Great North Run Half Marathon Event Volunteer

When and where
The race starts in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne and moves through the neighbouring borough of Gateshead towards South Tyneside. The finish line is located in South Shields on the North East Coast. You can view more details about the event including the route map here
Cheer point and post-race reception location is to be confirmed nearer the time
Event date: Sunday 8th September Start time: TBC (in the past it has started at 10:40am but we will let you know as soon as we hear)
End time is approx. 17.30, however if you need to finish earlier please let us know.
Additional Details
You will need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and the task. Wear something comfortable and bring layers in case it gets very cold (It’s in autumn but still can’t trust the English weather!) you may also need sun cream if it’s a hot day.
You’ll have support from staff, with the opportunity to gain and develop skills and meet other volunteers.
Snacks and water will be available but please bring your own lunch.
We seek applications from anyone interested in the role, but particularly welcome applications from those on the autism spectrum. You must be able to volunteer independently as we are not able to offer one to one support to volunteers
