Parent to Parent Emotional Support Helpline Volunteer
Requirement of this role is that you are the parent or primary carer of an autistic child including adult children
When and where
- You will volunteer from your own home
- You will need access to a computer and a good internet connection
- The role will take place Monday to Friday during office hours (9am to 5pm)
- We would like you to volunteer for one 3 hour shift per week
- You will need access to your own computer/laptop with internet access
How to apply for this role

Your application cannot be processed until the task has been completed

Training and support
Training
In order to provide effective emotional support to parents and carers over the phone, and carry out the associated admin, volunteers need to complete our training which takes up to 10 hours of study over a three month period.
Month 1 Complete online training modules covering:
- Autism knowledge
- GDPR
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Safeguarding
- Health & Safety
Month 2 Read and answer questions on our training manuals covering:
- NAS
- Autism information,
- Volunteering practices
- Details of your role
Month 3 Complete:
- Teams training sessions consolidating your learning
- Mock call and shadowing
Support provided by the Emotional Support Manager will be ongoing.
