Fundraising - Collections Support Volunteer (South Lanarkshire Branch- East Kilbride & Strathaven area)
Our branch raises money to support our activities, through donations from the public collected via our collection tins located in local businesses and community settings across the East Kilbride & Strathaven area.
Maintaining the relationship with these businesses and community settings is vital, as is regularly collecting and replacing these tins.
We're looking for a volunteer who can help us in the East Kilbride & Strathaven area, with this vital work.
What you will be doing
The role would involve:
• Collecting the tins from the branch and delivering them to a small list of existing locations in East Kilbride & Strathaven
• Periodically checking in with these local businesses/ community settings to check the tin collection is going ok.
• Being a positive ambassador for the branch through these visits
• Bringing the tins back to the branch when they are full so the contents can be counted and banked.
• Providing empty replacement tins to these businesses/ community settings to enable further collections.
• Identifying other potential sites in the East Kilbride & Strathaven area, who may be willing to host a collection tin for the branch.
Are you:
- Honest and trustworthy
- Well-presented and personable
- Willing to learn about our branch and what we do and why we need to raise funds (we will help you with this)
- Located in or near to the East Kilbride & Strathaven area
- Reliably able to commit 2-3 hours every 2 months to collect, replace and return collection tins
When and where
- Visiting locations in the East Kilbride & Strathaven area to deliver and collect tins
- Approx 2 to 3 hours every 2 months
Support
- Designated Senior Branch Engagement Officer to answer any queries and provide support.
- Written guidance on a range of branch communications.
- You must complete any requested eLearning modules before you start volunteering. (Your Senior Branch & Volunteering Engagement Officer will explain what you need to complete).
- Insurance cover for all branch activities.
- Agreed expenses reimbursed for attendance at any event organised by the branch support team
