LGBTQ+ online branch Co-Leader volunteer (UK-wide)

Opportunity image

Our LGBTQ+ Online Branch aims to support autistic adults who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. We do this by providing a monthly opportunity to meet online in a relaxed, safe and supported environment, and by responding to incoming email enquiries.

The monthly online session takes the form of an hour long, volunteer led session when a mix of informative and fun topics help participants share their own experiences, ideas and listen to others. This means attendees can enjoy some peer support, gently socialise and help reduce feelings of isolation.

We already have some great volunteers delivering this work, and we are keen to recruit more to build the capacity of our team and to help develop our branch activity further.

Do you have personal experience of autism and want to make a difference in your local community?

Are you:

  • Approachable, patient and understanding of the needs of others?
  • Confident and able to speak to new people attending a group and make them feel welcome?
  • Organised and able to work well as part of a small team?
  • Able to reliably commit a few hours a month to help plan, facilitate and support our LGBTQ+ Online Branch activities?

If so, we’d welcome your application to become one of our Co-Leader Volunteers.
